Aim: This in-vitro study aimed to evaluate the effect of three different filling techniques on apical leakage in roots with various apical foramen diameters, using gutta-percha and bioceramic-based root canal sealers. Method: A total of 160 extracted maxillary anterior teeth were divided into four main groups of teeth based on the apical foramen diameters. The apical foramen diameters of 0.30 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.50 mm, and 0.80 mm were prepared using a 30 #K, 40 #K, 50 #K, and 80 #K type hand file, respectively. Following root canal preparation was completed with adjusted rotary system and root canals were filled using gutta-percha and Well Root ST bio ceramic sealer. The samples were then divided into 3 subgroups as filling techniques the single cone, the lateral condensation, and the thermoplastic injection. The amount of apical leakage of the samples was evaluated using the dye penetrat.. Read More»
