    A Study of Haematological Parameters in Patients Suffering from COVID-19 in a Tertiary Care Centre, Chennai

    COVID-19 is a viral infectious disease caused by the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome Corona virus SARS-CoV-2. COVID-19 first case was reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and since then emerged into a global pandemic causing innumerable loss of lives around the world. One of the earliest research findings done a cross China by Guan, et al. showed that lymphocytopenia, thrombocytopenia, and leukopenia were the common haematological manifestations among COVID-19 patients. A single centre prospective observational study of 291 COVID-19 patients with laboratory confirmed infection and admitted to sree balaji medical college and hospital.
