    A fundamental goal of the dental practitioner is to restore surface cavities and replace tooth structure that has been lost due to caries, trauma, or decay, injury, and other causes to "normal" anatomical specifications. Cognitive interpretation of tooth morphology achieved with appropriate materials and resources, as well as the required psychomotor skills for proper design and completion, are regarded as critical restoration strategies. Furthermore, if present, the original tooth structure visualization should greatly assist the dentist in creating a clinically acceptable restoration.
