    Introduction: Oral lichen planus is an autoimmune mucosal disorder affecting the skin and mucosa. It has high chances of malignant transformation which affects one to two percent of the general population. The main symptoms of oral lichen planus include burning sensation, pain, white patches, irritation, and blisters. Assessment of oral lichen planus is essential prior to any specialized procedure to avert any further oral and systemic complications. Screening of lichen planus condition has become a necessity in developing countries and study of this nature will have enormous public health impact.
