    Control of Nosocomial Infections in a Hospital with Limited Means

    Background: Nosocomial infection is happening as post- admission infections in hospitals and requires the prolonging the stay at the wards. Usually, it happens after 48h of hospital admissions and play a significant role in morbidity, mortality and exhibit an elevated loss of patient’s economy. The aim of this study was to find the incidence, etiology and to discuss the control of nosocomial infections in the post-operative patients admitted at Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital during September 2013 to August 2015. Methods: 200 patients who were stayed in Surgical Post-Operative and general Wards at least for 48h in were included in the study after getting ethical permission and their informed consent.
